I'm upgrading my wirless B network to G. I'm considering going with a Linksys WRT54G so that I can use the sveasoft firmware. My question is, why?
For the average home user, are there any major advantages? I've looked for some sveasoft faq's, and the best I've found so far is a post here.. However, a lot of it is greek to me.
The 2 advantages I can decipher are: 1) Static MAC-to-IP DHCP addressing. (My Netgear 802.11B does this by default, so I'm suprised I have to use hacked firmware on Linksys for this. But this is an important feature to me). 2) Bridging. This is also seems very useful, as signal stregnth gets very weak across the house from my router.
Any other features that a home user would find useful? Thanks.
