svchost using 100% CPU?!!?

I unsuccesfully installed Roxio EZ CD creator 5 tonight. It would not work. I then installed Service pack 2 for Win2k. Still didn't work, so uninstalled the software. Now I am running at 100% CPU utilization. Task manager shows me svchost is using all processes. What can I do to correct this?

Man, in every single post I have seen on here about EZ-CD Creator 5 something has always been screwed up. SP2 won't fix it, but I am sure you know that. Check Roxio's site for the latest, but this software is messin machines up. I hear its windows 98 machines too.

My only answer to you is that the solution so far has been to format and reinstall.

svchost is just a carrier that other process(es) runs on. You need to find out what the actual application is running at 100%.

Try killing services and seeing what happens to the CPU utilization. There's certain ones you might not want to kill off tho... I forgot where a list of essential 2k services is. Try searching in the forums.
