Which of these would you even consider ?

Which of these would you even purchase ? I want a 400W+ one but not sure which one is good.. is the raidmax brand even good ?

try the truepower 430W or higher (430W should be enough though) you can find a good deal on this in the hot deals forum

or the fortron 350W (enough as well)

you can get it at www.directron.com .. just do a search for fortron. i think they are about 38 dollars.

I'd consider the Zalmann if I was very concerned with noise, and the Thermaltake for a decent system. The Vantecs are decent but overpriced though, and everything else is shady.

the thermaltake is very good. as well as the zalman 300w Also if you have the money go for the vantec.

thermaltake doesn't make very good power supplies, not sure why you said that

What do you base your information off of? I am basing this off of many review that I have read. If its from personal experience please share.

FWIW...

I've typically used generic (whatever came with the cheap cases) or Powmax brand (dual fan and high output for the price) power supplies, but recently I started using Antec. Got a TruePower 330 for my GF's computer and picked up a TruePower 430 (in an Antec 1080 case). Those things are SOOOOoooo quiet compared to what I've used, and the power output is very steady and very close to spec (looking in the BIOS system monitor). I also like the extra fan leads that are variable voltage. They're not cheap (around $60 for the 330W and $85 for the 430W, Newegg pricing with shipping) but IMO they're worth the money.

I have the Fortron FSP 350W from Directron.com. They have a 400W model too. These psu's are recommended in many forums. I like mine. I switched the fan though because I thought it was loud. My system only has 2500 rpm case fans and cpu fan. So I put a 2500 rpm fan in the Fortron and added a 2500 rpm intake fan to it too.
