Hey guys/gals,
I found a really easy way to install/remove socket A coolers like the SVC GC68. Use TWO screwdrivers! I use one to push down on the clip vertically. The other screwdriver is behind the clip and I use it to push out. Using this method, I was able to carefully modulate my force--no more slipping--and prevent further bashing of my motherboard. Yes--I said "further"
Of course, to do this, you'd need to either remove the mobo, or insert the horizontal screwdriver through the I/O ports area of the case. I don't have an I/O cover, so it was not a problem for me.
