OK, I've got my SV24 barebones setup going with a Celeron900, 256MB Crucial, Pioneer 106S DVD, TV-WonderVE Tuner and a WD 40GB 7200RPM drive.

As I look throught the manual, I come to page 38, section E3 Optional Modem Riser Adapter Connector JP5

JP5 is a 10 pin header, with the pin assignment as follows:
1 - SDIN
2 - BITCLK
3 - PRIMARY
4 - GND
5 - KEY
6 - 3V3_SB
7 - SYNC
8 - SDOUT
9 - SDIN2
10 - -ACRST

The manual also notes:

" This header can be used to connect a optional MR slot adapter cable to FV24 mainboard. Typically, you would use this connector must be disabled onboard modem on back-panel. "

Clear as mud, and great grammar, I might add

Anyway, can this header simply be wired up to a telephone jack and used as a modem connection? Is there an additional part that I need?

Thanks!!
