SUVs with a MT? How many exist?

Im asking this question for a friend, His wife wants a new car, and she wants a SUV that has a manual tranny. after giving him the :hmm: face i figured i ask here, because off the top of my head i cant recall any that are still made.

Are they?

Real SUVs or crossovers as well? I believe the Jeep Patriot is available with one. But yes, the list is definitely pretty thin.

Crossovers as well, not exactly sure what shes looking for but i figured i ask because i was kinda curious as well, and you guys know a hell of a lot more then i do about cars

The Forester still offers a 5MT with the base engine, but they stopped offering a manual with the turbo engine in '08 (in the US). Subaru also offers a 6-speed in the Outback, but again, it's base engine only. I don't think they sell enough manuals here in the upper trim levels to justify offering it.

Outback 4 banger with 6MT would be my choice. Of course if they offered it with a Turbo like Legacy GT, that would be the best.

I had a Ford Explorer (1991-1992) with a 5 speed. Fun as hell to drive that large of a vehicle with stick and 4wd. Had a strong 4.0 liter V6 as well.

Sold it to a guy who a year later totalled it when hitting a deer.

a buddy had a 5 speed explorer like the one mentioned above. not sure if it was 4x4 but it was damned fun.

I really wish the Trailblazer came with a manual. I want an SS...and I'd love a 6-speed in it. I've researched into a swap, but haven't seen anybody do it/have it done.

I was walking past a relatively new Santa Fe and i was shocked to see a stick in it. They are rare in this day and age. manual ftw.
