SUV gas mileage?

Anyone who drives a V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee, what do you get for gas mileage? Gas mileage for all other SUVs?

I'm thinking of buying a 4X4 because i'm sick of snow driving in my Honda and not to mention it's the best time to switch since my car recently got broken into.

My dad has a V8 Eddie Bauer Explorer (1999 model) and he averages about 19 mpg. I took two of my friends with me on a week long camping trip to NH and we averaged 22 mpg on the highway with a pretty good load inside. When we're towing our boat (just an 18 foot I/O runabout) with it, we average 16-17 mpg.

If you don't need to tow things and don't need the space, I'd recommend a Subaru instead. Better mileage and just as good in the on-road situations you'll encounter.

Hey you live down the road from me. I drive a '95 Rodeo @ 12/15mpg. 😉 Newer generation Rodeos are up to 19.5mpg.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited owner here. I special ordered a V6 because I had a 5.9L Durango before and got sick of stopping for gas every other day. 20 Highway 16 City.

I have a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo 4wd (v6 3.2) and I get around 25mpg on the highway. I was really surprised how well it does.
