SUV != Family Wagon

Lots of people throw around SUV as a wide term and i think it lacks definition. Do you guys consider an Escalade or a Ford Excursion as an SUV? Those are Oversized Family Wagons! I've got an older 4runner, and that IS an SUV.....and i also have a suburban(OFW), which i don't use tha toften(less than 7k miles in 3 years)......can someone give me a clear definition? And for all you popele who like to stereotype SUV drivers as un-courtoius, i try very hard to drive curtiously(sp?), and i realize that stereotypes are built on observation, and i know that some SUV/Family wagon drivers are dicks, but don't generalize!

How do you have money for Internet service with gas prices so high? All those SUVs must cost a fortune to fill up.

no. truck frame + rwd = suv or truck (explorer, excursion, tahoe, pathfinder, sequoia, etc)
car based + fwd = station wagon (pilot, murano, pacifica, freestyle, highlander, etc)

Those ARE SUVs. You're confusing "SUV" with "off road vehicle". Suburbans aren't off roading vehicles, and neither are Touaregs, Audi Allroads, Foresters, Muranos, Explorers with the IRS, new Landrovers, etc etc.

allroads and foresters are definitely station wagons.

Tell that to the government that classes them as "light trucks".

Yeah, they do take a pretty penny to fill to the brim(around $90 for the suburban), but considering i drive less than 40 miles per week, a tank of gas lasts almost 3 months(using the Suburban as a daily driver). I take public transit most places i go, so i really can't say it affects me that much.

Last time I checked the Murango was RWD, and the size of the Explorer...

this would not work then

The whole reason, i havent really driven my truck or my suv in a while. I believe i have driven both maybe 100 miles in about a month. I put more miles on my motorcycle. The only true miles either vehicle have gotten is when i go to virginia beach to pick up my daughter...

I dunno how you classify all of them. Frankly, I don't care. I do enjoy running up on Honda's and scaring them into the slow lane, however. So if that black Eddie Bauer expedition is on your butt and your rice is in the way, just remember, I could knock you off the road with a simple press on the pedal. 😉

Slow people with slow little cars, who get in my way, when I am in a hurry, irritate the f@ck out of me! You know the type....people who just mosey along, totally oblivious to what is going on around them. They piss me off the most. 😀

you checked wrong
and size has nothing to do with if its a station wagon or not.

SUV, station wagon, sadan, truck are all based on looks. It really makes no difference the type of drive train it has.

LOL I pass large vehicles and SUV's all the time cause they accelerate like crap and usually are the slowest around here. And I just block them off and never let them change lanes in front of me. Nothing personal as I don't let big rigs, uhauls, buses etc in front of me either as I can't see over or around or anything in front of them. The guys in lifted trucks and lifted SUVs I don't mess with cause they are all crazy SOBs around here. Go 100 and swerving in and out.

Few times I'm stuck behind an SUV or large vehicle and there is no room to pass I just tailgate and draft behind them , though this isn't exactly smart as if anything sudden happens my car is toast (probably just go right underneath it though).
