Suspicious Phone Action

I've noticed that my phone, a Verizon Note4, will do the same thing almost every night about 10-30 minutes after plugging the Note4 in the phone lights up real bright like it's taking a picture -- there are no messages, emails or notifications that this time. I'm just suspicious enough to think that someone is trying to see where I am, though I'd love to know what else it might be. Again, when this happens, and only for a few seconds at a time, there are no message, emails or notifications that might explain this.

Anyone else have the happen and what the hell is it?

The Note 4 screen brightens when it takes a picture? Is that standard behavior for a Note 4? First I have heard about it.

the camera app in android will override brightness settings so those who run with dim lights all the time to save power are not left with a useless viewfinder when jumping into the camera.

Verizon's old slogan: "Can you hear me now?"
Verizon's new slogan: "We can see you now."
