Sushi yes/no

Desperatly want some sushi, major craving going on here. But I'm not going to get out of work until midnight. Should I suffer through it or hit up a grocery store?

I thought this was a yes/no ever had a nasty craving for sushi.

I'd say go with your gut. 😉 Personally, can't say I've ever had a craving for sushi....then again I don't really like it.

Trader Joe's sushi is far better than grocery store sushi if you can get it. Go for the California Rolls and Ebi. (Shrimp) They also have a tempura roll which is damn good if you warm it up first.

*Confirmed* I'm the only person in the world who's yet to try sushi. Judging by the replies here I must be really missing out 😕

Its pretty good, though some of it is definitely an acquired taste.

One of the myths of sushi is that it is all raw. Not true. While most traditional sushi is raw there are several rolls which are not, Ebi (Shrimp), Kani (Crab), Unagi (Barbecue Eel) and Tamago (Egg) to mention a few. Furthermore most sushi restaurants now have a large selection of what I call "Americanized" rolls. Some are pretty basic -- Spider Rolls (Softshell Crab) -- and some are wild explosions of flavor. Tempura'd shrimp, spicy crab, hot sauce, cooked scallops... and that isn't even one-eighth of the ingredients I've seen used. It's all incredibly tasty.

Trust me, go sometime. Sit down at the sushi bar and tell the chef you've never had it before. They'll guide you right.

Oh yeah, don't try Tako right off the bat. Unless you think you'll like raw octopus.

P.S. Don't be afraid of the Eel. It tastes like chicken.

Lol, it figures that Eel would taste like chicken. Everything else does 😕

Thanks for the response though. Now I just have to try and find a sushi restaurant around here. That will be the hard part 😕

I didn't really care for it. It is worth a try though, just so you can say you've tried it before you just dismiss it as bad. 🙂
