Sushi Restaurant Music Suggestions

My parents have owned a sushi restaurant for a few years and have always had awful music that was set up for them by one of the previous mangers. The music ranges from bad techno, something that resembles middle eastern prayer, and the Spanish version of the song , "I Will Survive".

I was hoping to set them up with something easier on the ears. Some sort of soothing quiet chill music to play in the background. The only problem is i don't really listen to that sort of music so i would love to hear some of your suggestions. I would prefer all the music to be just instrumentals.

Thanks.

jazz station on pandora

I would immediately walk out of any sushi joint playing anything resembling "music ranges from bad techno, something that resembles middle eastern prayer, and the Spanish version of the song , "I Will Survive"."

Coming from Uhohs im a tad scared to take a look.

I have actually streamed pandora over my phone with it set on miles davis and it wasn't bad. I just wasn't sure if it was a long term solution.

I thought about using Japanese music but i really know nothing of it except the random stuff i hear in anime intros.

its a japanese restaurant; have you considered japanese music?
This.

Pandora will stop playing music after so long of no inactivity, I don't know about a paid account, but also would have to worry about it having the chance to play some completely random music on the opposite end of the spectrum than you started off on, and not intending to.
di.fm gets repetitive way quick. It's also likely that it would time out.

I don't use xm radio, but they may have something that would be a decent solution until you can obtain some traditional japanese music.

Why would that matter?

My girlfriend and I went into one of those Thai / Japanese hybrid restaurants (not a Chinese restaurant) the other day. We sat down and she immediately said that all of the decorations were Chinese (characters) and that the beer they were advertising was brewed in her home province in China.

The waiter, an Asian American, proceeded to use the world "ya'll" and other members of the southern vernacular, even the cooks were American.

I think they were playing some rock and roll (American / British) music. Good grub though, will go back.

Then again, that is the typical "Asian" restaurant for around here. Some are even combination Korean / Japanese, which I find an odd mix, given their history. But, most of the people in there are Americans anyway, so it is all good.
