SUSE 9.3 Linux n00b question

Just getting started in Linux and have installed SUSE 9.3 onto a Shuttle SK41G. Seems to be working OK, but when I try to play a CD in KsCD, everything seems OK, except no sound is delivered to either the speakers or the headphone jack.

I guess its a driver problem, but I'm unsure what to try next. Any suggestions?

No, nary a peep.

I've got two Shuttles sharing a monitor, speakers, etc. via a KVM switch. The other one is running Windows XP Pro, on which the sound is fine.

BTW, before I switched it to SUSE, I was running XP on it and it was making all the right sounds!
