I don't see the problem here ? If you like this particular distro then yes please do support it and help keep this nice distro going. I mean you paid for windows even if you liked it or not in one form or another depending on whether it came with your PC ( price was already factored in the original retail price ) or not. So why not support a company making a product you like ? Besides at the most you might pay $35-$45 for the Home version or $70-$95 for the Pro version. How much would it cost you to pay for a brand new copy of a full version windows XP Home version or Pro retail ? Also if you are tight for money but want the Pro version you could always get the full Pro version of SuSE by buying the update version from their website for $45-$50 but you will not get any manuals or those nice stickers that they throw in the regular version of Pro version.

P.S. I am getting my copy of the full Pro version this Tuesday and I will say though that next time around I'll be getting the upgrade instead because I have enough stickers and pins from SuSE as it is.

I just installed SuSE 8.0 for a friend and I am really impressed.
The installation is a joy. Partitioning and package selection is powerful and simple. Hardware detection also. Once installed and it was booting, it really struck me how far SuSE has come with getting Linux easy to use both for the novice and the more experienced. I ran the auto-update and it downloaded some updated program versions and installed them without a hitch. Next I got the autoinstallscript for the Crystal icon package from www.kde-look.org, gorgeous! KDE3 is really working well and looking good.
I've been using Linux since 1998 and this distribution is in my opinion the easiest to install and use. It's well worth the money.
Anyone who has been hesitating about trying Linux or thought it's too hard should run and get SuSE 8.0 Personal Edition right now, Linux has never been this fun!
