You can assume the crash position, but in that case you're really just trying to get as close to kissing your ass goodbye as you can.

That does it! I'm building a bomb shelter. Fuck Happy Days and fuck all my friends, no one is getting in but me.

I ALWAYS try to get the emergency exit seat, and I never forget to mention that I am a Sheriff's SAR leader and paramedic. :) Hey, whatever gets me in that seat...

I honestly don't believe that by doing that would save our lives. It was more of a scare tactic now that i look back.

KEEP THOSE KIDS IN LINE!
The "hands on your head, with your head down" is there to protect your neck in case of falling debris. Actually, your hands should wrap around your neck and not so much your head. The skull is a lot stronger than the neck. This applies for earthquake too.

One I've heard is that women should not wear nylons on the plane. If there's a fire, the stuff melts to your legs and will burn you badly.

Also, this pretty well sums it up: link

Interesting I would have figured going limp is actually worse as your limbs would be loose and easily "thrown" to bend the wrong way. Like if someone shakes you and you hold your neck stiff it wont hurt as much as if you leave your head loose.
