As was posted a while back... tore my TFCC a while back. After all the Doctor visits, MRI's, blood work, etc. I finally had the surgery today. Holy hell, I'm so glad it's over and I'm on the road to recovery. I can already feel the difference in my wrist even though it's bandaged to hell (a ton of soft gauze bandage, no cast).
It was my first real surgery aside from having my wisdom teeth taken out. The process and procedure and questions before I had the surgery felt like I was having my brain replaced. I was surprised about "Have you been out of the country in the last 21 days, this includes West Africa." They really have to say that last piece like maybe some people think West Africa is somewhere in Kentucky? "oh ok... so you're ebola free." Yes, as far as I know. Now get naked and put this robe on. Wait, I'm not having a Kris Jenner operation. It's just my wrist! Ok Mr. xxxxx, lay down here.... count backwards from 10. 10, 9... thmpbt! I was so happy about the graham crackers afterwards since I hadn't eaten anything since 9 last night.
Anyways... so glad it's all over. I can't shower or have any alcohol for 24 hours -- Blasphemy!! I suppose I'll survive. I've got this bandage on until next Weds. At that point, I remove it and am able to cover the stitches with a simple band aid. I'm supposed to let it air out when I'm sitting at home. A week after Weds, I go to see the Doc to have the stitches removed. That should be the last of this mess that it has been. Hurts like hell at the moment, but the bottle of hydrocodone pills help!
Of course I know what you're all thinking..... fapping lefty is gonna take some adjustments but there's a first for everything, right? In the meantime, who can recommend a good documentary or series of some sort on Netflix/Amazon Prime? I like music documentaries and FBI/crime scene type shit. I've finished Dexter.
Oh and for those who have no idea what the TFCC is.... don't ever tear it. It hurts. Pretty bad. I most likely got it as an avid tennis player - it's very common in racket sports. It hurt so bad I could barely wipe my own ass.
