I am supposed to take this survey for work to show how I feel about the company and my bosses, etc.

It's one where you can select strongly disagree, disagree, neither agree nor disagree, agree, or strongly agree.

WTF is the neither agree nor disagree option? how do you neither agree nor disagree with something?

Also, how many people actually select what they really feel? it's not anonymous, btw.

You've never not had an opinion on something? If Nepal changed their flag from the odd shaped double pendant they have now to a semi-circular piece of fabric, and they asked for my opinion, I would neither agree nor disagree with their decision, because I couldn't possibly care less.

but this is about your job, not nepal's flag...you have to have some opinion about your job, right?

Not if it's a universal survey they give to everyone. For example, I work in the development office at a private school. I've filled out surveys where they asked about curriculum. Well, the curriculum choices of the school do not apply to my job in any way, shape or form; I don't even know what the curriculum is. Consequently, I answered "no opinion" on all those questions. It would have been irresponsible for me to put anything else.

I don't see an issue with the neutral option, tons of surveys have them.

The non-anonymous thing is kinda weird, IMO.

it's a very generic survey that could apply to everyone.

i wish i had it with me, but some of the questions are:

do you feel that you are paid fairly, considering your skill?
do you have the tools to do your job?
does your manager treat everyone fairly?
does your manager help and respect you?

my kids school took away the dont care option. i hate that, since if i dont care, i have to show that theres either a positive or negative for it. i just skip those types of questions now.

and the not anon thing is weird, youd think they would already know they wouldnt get real answers.
