I have 2 of these Hand Carved Bars from the Orient and these guy comes over wants to buy one and me Mod it into a Puter. I never thought about selling one let alone Modding it but I guess if the price is right....ahh what do you all think?

Do they have any sentimental value? Is this guy skilled? Has he done any similar projects? If you're handing it to a master, I'd feel more comfortable about it.

I'd say no. It just...wouldn't be good for a computer. Unless you could put a false back to it, so that it looked just the same as it does now (but with a computer inside), I'd leave it alone. I doubt many people would be able to do a convincing job on that wood...

I agree I'd say no those are much to beautiful to mod. But if you do decide to sell charge him a arm and a leg

To Mod or not to Mod, that is the question. We mod not because we can improve or excite, but because we can!

Personally I think they're fugly. I wouldn't take it as a big loss if one were to get trashed modding it, but I wouldn't want my computer built into an ugly peice of furniture either.

Thanks for all the input...the guy came over and read this thread and I basically told him:
I wouldn't want to Mod such a fine piece of furniture.
I wouldn't want to sell it knowing that the Antique piece would be changed.
If he had enough Money to purchase it then he would also have enough funds to put 1 State of the Art Laptop in it !
