Survey: Does your monitor have backlight bleed?

Thats because its a TV, not a monitor lol.

Yes - dual shimian QH270s - its not that bad
Yes - Dual Asus VK266H - might be worse than the shimians
YES - dual 22in LG TNs - this was not as bad as the Asus or Shimian

basically ive never owned a LCD that did not have some amount of light bleed

One thing I really like about my DoubleSight 307W is the lack of discernible backlight bleed. I've seen some horrid bleeding with cheap TN displays in the past.

now questions for the blacklight experts.
are they all acceptable? if so how do they compare in general?
should I exchange any? which one needs to go back?

I get a bit off the ips glow on the bottom right hand corner only on a you tube full black screen , if I move my head to look directly at the corner it does not show ,
-never see it except in low trash you tube so who cares.

Related question: anyone using an IPS or PLS panel noticed "IPS glow"? Since IPS panels are substantially brighter than TN, there's a phenomenon where corners can seem "lighter" due to IPS glow depending on your viewing angle, which is basically because the backlighting is so intensely bright on IPS panels (and like mentioned, much much much brighter than TN).

I think this is why many IPS panels opt for an aggressive (ie: very thick) anti glare coating, typically being much thicker than the AG present on most TN panels. To prevent the IPS glow phenomenon, I could be wrong though.

Oh is this what I'm experiencing? I have one of those Korean knock offs (Microcenter Auria 27Q something) and the bottom right corner is a tad brigher (making black look washed.) I thought it was Backlight bleed.

I know when I first setup the screen I tried a Dead Pixel test and literally burned my retinas from the intensity of the light. I had to tone down the brightness.

I'm not concerned with the small bottom right corner though.

That may be what I'm seeing. it across the entire display. It's hard to describe it. It's not backlight bleed like I'm used to on TN panels.

Literally. How long ago was that? Was the retina damage severe?

No backlight bleeding, but it does have IPS glow because, well, its an IPS monitor. :\

Haha. Literally, temporary blindness (damn my pupils from having slow response time!)

Staring at a bright white screen burns its image into my vision for a good 4-5 minutes. Night driving is a pain in the ass, I tell you what.
