Yet they control the content of any legislation that comes out of Congress? What's wrong with this picture?

Right, because atheists and Muslims are such terrible people?

edit: Yeah I get what they're getting it with the survey. But still... If any of the people who voted are the same people who say they don't like atheists or Muslims then honestly, I really don't care what those people have to say about the tea party.

The CNN poll clearly shows that Americans support a balanced budget amendment, not CC&B which is a balanced budget amendment with no tax increases, correct? It's also clear from this same CNN poll that those Americans also believe by supermajorities that tax increases are necessary. So it's crystal clear that Americans would support a balanced budget amendment, but of course that says nothing about CC&B, which had no tax increases whatsoever AFAIK.

So all we have here is yet another conservative canard invented by Fern, yet again. CC&B didn't not have a 66% approval, a balanced budget amendment did and that says nothing of those same voters clear 2/3rd's+ support for tax increases.

Ker-rist, it's right there in question #23:

23. In another proposal, Congress would raise the debt ceiling only if a balanced budget amendment
were passed by both houses of Congress and substantial spending cuts and caps on future spending
were approved. Would you favor or oppose this proposal?

Favor 66%
Oppose 33%
No opinion 1%

It's Cut Cap & Balance. Jeebus, people.

If you read about 40 threads above I already accepted already no check from your wife Paypal only.

Yes. I see your play on words/timing. Do we have a bet on Obama winning the 2012 presidential election or not?

500 bucks to you if Obama wins 2012 presidential election. You pay me 500 if Obama loses 2012 presidential election.

Yes, fixed. I just want to know if we're on or not. I made proposition/bet and have yet to see confirmation of said proposition, only trying to change terms/wording.

I think in this little debate you guys are having, it should be stressed a little more that the tax increase people were approving of was for high income individuals.

I don't think a general tax increase would be accepted and what you're seeing here is exactly what it is, people accepting a tax increase on the rich. With the top percent getting richer and the divide between classes growing every month, yeah I would say it's not that ignorant to want higher taxes on these people. Though it's not a long term solution.

edit: So really it's not that the Tea Party doesn't want any tax increases, and the people do want them; Like you seem to be stressing to show a disconnect between them.
I don't think they could pass a general tax increase, and I don't think middle class america wants a tax increase, this is just a reflection of the discontent of people with the division of wealth in America.

"Hope and Change" is as silly of thing to believe in this time around about the Tea Party and their favorites as it was with Obama in 2008.

But, by all means, don't let reality spoil your potential orgasm.
