Surveillance DVR/PC Hard Drive

I am looking at building PCs with PCI cards to connect surveillance cameras into. Being that the HD would be almost constantly written to, and would be storing what could be EXTREMELY important information, I need a very reliable drive.

Which brand/model HD should I look into?

I have looked into Western Digital's AV line, as well as the RE4-GP. Does anyone know what the differences in these are?
