Surround speakers and card

Im looking for 5.1 or 7.1 surround but the problem is I can't have wires going across the room. I was looking at these they seem to be the perfect solution for me and right around what im willing to pay. I also was looking for a new sound card as right now i have SB 16 bit, was looking at the Audigy2 ZS Gamer because it came with some games i'd like to play. Any suggestions or comments on the above would be greatly appreciated.

I would look to Klipsch or Creative Soundworks for some offerings. Klipsch seem quite popular with most llisteners.

I can vouch for the Klisch 4.1 set that I used to use. It's now a 2.1 set that I gave to my girlfriend. I prefered the more neutral sounding Cambridge Soundworks Megeworks 5.1 set that I upgraded to. Recently I upgraded the two front sats to a pair of MC-300's which to my ears are the best sounding speakers I have ever heard.

Also it is not imperative that you by an Audigy for gamming as newer titles such as Half Life 2 do not take advantage of it's onboard processing. This looks to be a trend for the future thankfully. Go with the best sounding Sound Card to your ears and let your powerful FSB components get a decent work out.

I use the excelent Audiotrak 7.1 Prodigy. Works extremely well for music and also doubles as a gamming card. It uses 2 seperate drivers which you can easily switch between; one driver for music and one for gamming. I can't say enough good things about it and I have an Audigy 2 and an M-Audio Revo 7.1 to compare it too.

In the end it all comes down to your own personal preference. There is not right or wrong sound setup.

I have a set of logitech z5500s and they sound pretty damn good. Have them paired up with an M-Audio Sonica Theater (7.1 channel USB device b/c I have a lappy). I'm not sure if I would have went with the M-Audio if I had a PC desktop, as there are more offerings than for Mac. However, I've been very happy with the sound quality I'm getting... I'm very impressed.

The logitechs' sound just as good if not better than the Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 setups that have been around for a little while (as well as the 680s that they replaced - they sound quite a bit better and the bass is more accurate/tighter).
