wanted to ask what the best place for surround speakers are, i use monopoles (direct radiating speakers) and my options are
1.behind me
2.on the corners around 100-110 to where i sit
also should i point them to the center or somewhere else?

creates a larger sweet spot

the 110 degrees from center is the dolby spec IIRC as well, you can google and find lots of information on this

The 110 degrees also works out to 90 degrees from the recommended 22 degrees on your fronts, as recommended by Dolby.

THIS and THIS should answer all your questions.
