Surround sounds headphones any good yet?

I also am very curious as I have them as tentative on my wish list for the holidays.

Also,
Sony, RCA, etc.... anyone have any comments on what holds up the best?

No, & they never will be.

Invest in a good pair of ordinary stereo headphones & you'll be far better off.

5.1 headphones are a gimmick, nothing more, & they can never replace a proper home theater.

I imagine they probably receive rave reviews from the crowd who believe that heavy bass defines good headphones, so if you're one of those you'll likely enjoy them.

In the end that's all that really matters.

I have the Zalman 5.1 headphones. There are 6 speakers built into the headphones. So you do get separation for center, front, and rear channels. They're great for playing Doom3 late night and also for AC3 DVD movies. But for standard 2 channel audio, my Sennheisers offer far better sound quality. These 5.1 headphones won't replace a true 5.1 sound system, but for only $65 (cnd) you can't go wrong with them either.
