Im looking to buy surround sound system for my living room, but dont want to spend a ridiculous amount of money. Obviously, it has to sound somewhat decent. Any ideas??????
 
what is the budget (should be a sticky)?

I mean ridiculous can be seen at $1000 is too little or too much.

Sounds decent can also mean plays my cd's audiablily vs at a flat response curve....

Also what do you need, the whole package or just a unit or just speakers?

not trying to be a pain...but this is all important.

Bought this last year for $299 after Black Friday price mistake from Circuit City. This receiver along with the ST500(?) speakers makes a great $500 surround sound system. I imagine you can definitely get this combo for the same price or less today... or wait till Thanksgiving again 🙂
