Hello all,
I am putting in a 24X14 addition to my house and I am installing a surround sound system in it (along with TV of course) but need some help. I know the basics but that is about it
I am putting 12 gauge in-wall rated wire around the room (well ... the electrician is!).
Attached is a rough Excel spreadsheet breaking down the room dimensions and furniture placement (guess at this point).
For further clarification my wife and I mainly watch Dish Network TV, Blu-Ray movies (to a lesser degree), play video games even less frequently, and listen to music very rarely).
I have a 52 inch tv at present (which I will wall mount over electric fireplace) and will upgrade sometime in next year to 70-80 inch 1080P or 4K depending on pricing etc. It too will be wall mounted.
I have a Onkyo receiver (from 9400HTX system) and will upgrade the receiver at some point.
I plan to use (tentatively) the RF-62ii series for the Front/Right/Center
I plan to use (tenatively) the RS-52ii surround speakers but I may use speakers I have currently for these for now as I can't afford to get all the speakers at once.
For the Left and Right Rear surround speakers I wanted to put in-wall speakers such as the Klipsch KL-6502-THX KL-6502
My question is can I mix the Klipsch Reference speakers with in-wall Klipsch THX speakers if they are from same company (to match Timbre etc.) or does that create a problem?
Also, I plan on putting the Rear Surround Speakers at a six foot height using the degree angle recommendation from the Dolby website. Does that sound good?
The shape of the room makes the Surround Speakers (left and right) placement a little awkward. I really don't know much about ceiling speaker and would prefer not to use them if possible. I planned on running the speaker wire under the floor to the speaker stands.
Also, does the size of the room dictate two subwoofers? If so, is there a placement that is better? I know placing them in the corner is not ideal but that is about it. I am not sure about subwoofer dimensions/power either. I have a few existing subwoofers I could use (one came with 9400htx system and the other is a smaller Polk. Don't know the wattage sorry. Each square in the picture (Excel Cell) represents 1X1 foot.
I appreciate any help you all can give me
