SURROUND SOUND PROBLEMS WITH SB LIVE 5.1 AND Z560'S

Can't explain it, just all of a sudden the sound out of the rear speakers is barely there. When testing using creative's software, I have to blast the volume to hear anything from the rear speakers. I've tried every different setting (5.1, 4 speakers, surround) and nothing helps. Downloaded the most recent drivers for the sound card and still nothing better. Any suggestions?

EDIT - I plugged the green connector from the speakers into a cd walkman and got balanced sound from all speakers. Does this mean my sound card went bad? Suggestions on a new card if needed? Others have suggested a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.

I've noticed this same problem with my SBlive, personally I think it derliberate. I think creative has set it up this way to try and encourage ppl to buy a newer card. I say this because when I put the card into my older system (win98) with older drivers the problem dosen't exsist, but with my new system and XP it's there.
