Surround sound in vista with media player

I have tested my speakers in the config wizard but when i play anything with media player it only comes out the center speaker. Also games only use the left and right.

this was not the case in XP how do i fix this?
 
ok dont know what i did but Movies play weird like only voice comes from center and sounds from fronts still no rears. Mp3s only play on left and right fronts
