Surge Protectors for Notebooks?

Unkno

How many people actually use mobile surge protectors like this?

Are they actually necessary/useful for like a macbook or any other laptops?

I am on my 6th laptop since 1994, and have never had the need for such a device. When I travel, I usually use the laptop's A/C adapter which is effectively a variable input transformer. My Internet connections are now wireless - no surges there.

I can't see hauling another brick around.

Not really if you travel a lot, and I don't recommend that specific "extension cord" because it's not a good rated connector.

If you want a good surge "protector" look for it to be EFI/RFI rated and at least a minimum of 800 joules.

I called it an extension cord because thats pretty much all that one is.
