Just got mine in, and all I can say is this thing is DOPE. Comes in a metal box like Q3A. Its huge, and the surface is awesome - and low profile. Very sturdy with a great rubber base. Well worth the $20-odd i shelled out for it. Highly recommended.

I must second that. I just received mine too and it is the best mousepad I have ever used. Very easy gliding and well made. Two surfaces make it a good fit for just about anyone. I also see less stuttering of my cursor with my optical mouse now.

ROFL, i just came to post about how much it rules. I got mine today. This thing is dope.

Even on the desktop i can feel the mouse tracking better than my old 3m.

I have used everglide 3m and now the surface1030, this one EASILY is the best. If you play games at all go buy one.

Boomslang+sureface1030 w00t very nice

Looks like I was right thinking it'd be better than EverGlide and Ratpatz.

:Q I get mine in tomorrow! Then I can sell my Everglide Giganta to a hallmate :)

OT: My roommate says "dope" a lot... I hope I don't start using it in everyday conversation :p

If any of you guys have Everglides or Ratz and bought a 1030. Please tell everyone which one you prefer and why. Which one slides better and what side of the 1030 you prefer and why (probably the smoother side but still). How is the quality of the 1030. You can't really tell how it is made from looking at pictures. I just like the mouse cord holder :).

Thanks.

I like the rough side. I have an optical Logitech and the rough side slides ever so slightly easier. The smooth side would probably be better with a ball mouse. Either side actually slides very easily. The rough side is not quite as rough as an Everglide. The smooth side is kind of like the cover of a 3-ring binder I bought at school (which is what I was using before this. Actually worked quite well).

Just got mine in this morning, and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

I had an Everglide for about 4 months before getting this sUrface 1030, and I definitely like the sUrface 1030 better. Both seem to slide at about the same speed, but the 1030's slide feels smoother (probably because of the less rough/more dense and uniformly spread bumps).

I too prefer the rough side. The smooth side feels a bit like those cheap plastic topped, foam bottomed mouse pads. I've always liked the traction of the 3M surfaces rather than the Everglide's surface, but there was a lot of drag on a fresh 3M PMS (the mouse slid easier after a few weeks of use, but until that happened, I used vaseline on my mouse feet when I had to play a Quake 3 match).

The mouse cord holder is good, especially for people who didn't find a way to free up the mouse cord. I have mine anchored to my right speaker cord with a twist-tie, with a big 8 inch loop of wire in front of the mouse pad for freedom of movement. This works great for me, so I won't be using the clip.

The only thing that worries me is if the sUrface can pop out of the bottom rubber pad so the rubber and the sUrface aren't flush anymore. Mine right now looks like it can come out fairly easily. If you move your mouse pad around your desk often by picking it up, it could be a pain in the butt to constantly have to reseat the sUrface in the rubber bottom. I for one keep my mouse pad in the same spot all the time.

US$20 + US$15 Air Shipping @ 1.5 C$/US$ = C$52.50 for a mouse pad! Yeah, and I'll be buying that V7700 Ultra to replace my aging V6800 DDR Deluxxx. Excuse me while I blow my nose on a $10 bill.

Yes, this will be extremely useful - get the blue and orange one! These colors are especially dope. Hehehe...anyway, yah, I like the rough side too...but then I like most things rough, if you know what I mean. I just like that extra tacky feel with my logitech gaming mouse (which, BTW, is the best mouse ever made).
