Surface Pro .... Normal Behavior or something to look out for?

Wife was using this 7th generation Surface Pro that we picked up from Costco at the beginning of the year. When she was finished with it, she powered it down from the Shutdown menu and walked away. When she went back to turn it on via the power button nothing happened. She called me downstairs to have a look and sure enough pressing the power button did nothing. I then used the PWR+VOL/UP buttons combination and sure enough it powered right on. No complains, warnings, nothing. Everything acted completely normal.

OK, what do you think? Is this an early sign of something to warrant a Costco return, or is this some known bug?
