Surface Pro gaming on a touchscreen?

I've been looking for a decent virtual gamepad for the touch screen that would allow you to play a game like FF7. The controls for that game are pretty casual, so a simple touchscreen virtual pad should work ok. Does such a thing even exist?
 
Not for the windows platform that I've ever seen. Typically Windows is controller more with KB/Mouse. I understand Windows 8 introduced more touch oriented controls but I don't think there's anything like what you describe available.
 
I'll be that guy, and just recommend looking into a 360 controller or pairing a Dualshock 3.

And yes, I know.
 
I've seen youtube videos highlighting various virtual gamepads for windows currently in development.
