Surface Pro 3 to LG 4K not working

I'm trying to get my Surface Pro 3 to display at 4K resolution but haven' figured it out yet. I try setting the resolution to 3840 x 2160 but the TV doesn't recognize it after that, waits for it to revert back to the original resolution. The Surface Pro 3 is in the dock that's connected to the TV thru the display port.

Any suggestions?

Maybe the frequency? I have always had problem with TVs recognizing or working at the exact resolution, I would always have to go a little bit higher or lower or adjust the zoom... do in the advanced display options and play around. Does it have something like ATI Catalyst or Nvidia control center

This page mentions having DisplayPort 1.2 cables and the latest updates. He says he has it running at 60Hz on one UHD monitor. I'm amazed that this doesn't overwork the video subsystem on such a slim device.
