after dropping my tablet, there was 1 crack line in the corner. i didnt mind until i notice booting up the tablet is now unreliable as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPasy1bOO0Y

1 in 5 boot up, the tablet would go into desktop and all is well. but it takes about 40 seconds, which is about 8 times slower!
and the other 4 in 5 boot up, it would be stuck on the Surface logo as seen in the vid.
what is going on??? im baffled.

please help.

Apparently the shock of the fall did some internal damage, maybe a loose connector.

The bad thing about the Surface Pro 3 is that it is almost completely unrepairable hardware-wise. From what I have seen in examining the one my brother got for Christmas last year, any attempt to disassemble it will almost certainly result in destruction of the screen.

Unfortunately, Microsoft specifically designed it that way -- it is essentially throw-away technology. Expensive throw-away technology.

It is a nice piece of kit, but I wouldn't own one.

You may have to try to back up your data and do a Windows re-installation, though with potential hardware issues you may be taking the chance of permanently bricking the tablet.

yeah, i tried factory reset with an image file MS provided. that didnt work. very odd.
for now, the solution is to never turn it off completely. just let it go to sleep and it will wake up instantly, ready for use.
