Surface 3 thread?

Picked up a Surface 3 128/4gb a week or so ago. Got it on sale at Best Buy for $499 and got a $50 gift card for buying it.

Went in to Best Buy today intending to only buy the Pen and walked out with the Type Cover and Pen for $4 out of pocket. They started a bundle discount just a few days after I bought it; Buy a Surface 3 or Pro 4 and get the Type Cover for $49. I had $60 in points, and $75 in gift cards.

I quite like it. It performs solidly in the "Good enough" category, though the eMMC storage is a little slow and the GPU is pathetic. I've been using it to post process pics from my DSLR in Lightroom and it's been doing fine.

I can easily recommend people buy this with a Type Cover to replace a traditional laptop or desktop if they don't want to spend more than $about $700 on a machine.

I like mine. The only gripe is the kickstand and type cover are still awkward to use on the couch if you're not reclining

you know something is awesome when other companies are trying to copy it, from Apple to HP. my surface pro 3 was great! amazingly, the price has only dropped $50 since it came out.

I bought a Pro 3 for my wife and she had the same issue. I ended up taking it back and just plan on buying her a mac and a ipad. Windows on a tablet was a bit clunky for someone like her who is not always up on the latest features of new operating systems. Another draw back that we both hated was the stupid windows button on the side of the device. I always hit it. They fixed it for the pro 4.

As for me I bought the surface book, so far I love it and its a great device for me. I'm hoping to get 3 or 4 years of usage out of it. I figure if I can get 4 years out of it then I might just keep it and mount the tablet portion on the wall and use it as a server. Its a wonderful device and was well built and it makes me excited for Microsofts future. I'm hoping someday they can come up with something that will rival the iphone/watch combo that I currently use. I still plan to buy some sort of smaller tablet to use every now and then because using a 13 inch tablet is not always ideal. I'm just happy I don't spend hours upon hours in my office every day.
