Surely it's been asked but: What mental problem would make somebody buy a *PONTIAC* crossfire?

3000 lbs. 215 horsepower. $35k. Answer?

There seem to be a lot of cars for the same price that would obliterate it. And don't say it's because it's got a mercedes background and of great quality, handles well, etc. The thing has no damn power!

And to answer your question, it's a luxo-sport car. I honestly wish they tossed the 250HP 3.5 from the 300M in there just for muscle, but I guess they're going for more luxury than sport. We'll see how they sell.

And somebody would pick a pontiac if they wanted a tiny $35k luxury car...?

I can see someone picking a CHRYSLER, if it's pretty much a Benz under the skin. This car is pretty much a Benz with a Chrysler interior and exterior. And you know what kind of clout the Benz name carries

It's like "What would make someone buy a 215HP Lexus IS300 for 30k?", cause it's not about the horsepower. The car has much more to offer than just HP.

Except that the IS300 is a LEXUS. The other is a CHRYSLER. "HI I just spent $35k on a new chrysler. It's not even very fast. Aren't I cool?" I'd take an infinity g35, smack the sh*t out of the crossfire, and have money left over for a big screen tv and a cruise!

2 things:

First, fix your title, there's no such thing as a Pontiac Crossfire, if you haven't gotten the hint yet :p

Second, Chrysler is working on the fact that "it's just a Chrysler", they're making a more upscale push, and the Pacifica and Crossfire are the two first attempts at it. Wait until the 300C comes out as well. Chrysler is trying to push for the name they had was back in the day, when they were a car to be looked up to. Who better to help them with that than Mercedes? I actually applaud Chrysler for trying this, going to upscale, RWD cars, the other Domestic companies are too afraid to do so, and Chrysler is trying to pave the way. True, I think the car is about 5k overpriced, but with all the Mercedes bits and pieces thrown into the mix, I'm sure it's going to feel like a 30k car.

How much is THAT gonna cost ($40k?)? Then a car $10k its junior will be able to hang with it assuming they put its HP in the high 200's.

LET'S JUST SAY THIS:

My Nissan Altima SUCKED compared to this car.

And...? So would you buy a car with 110 hp? The crossfire pretends to be a sports car and it has a high price, except it's not fast.
you're an ass
Quite true :)

I'm not talking about Pontiacs in general - I'm talking about the crossfire! And for the record my maxima is faster than your grand am :p

Clearly the most important thing about a car is how much HP is has

I don't like Pontiacs at all (not even a little), but I realize that there's more to a good car than HP.

The same kind of mental problem that causes one to find an answer to such a question.

I read an article about the car not long ago; I think it was Road and Track. There isn't much of the car that isn't made by mb. Seemed like a reasonable value to me.

Comes with a 6.1L V8 making 426hp. 0-60 in 4.7s.

Is that fast enough for ya Skoorb?

Might cost a *tad* bit more than a regular Crossfire.

Btw, Startech is the Chrysler division of Brabus!

that link should be called "How many STARTECH's can you find?"

lol. Its memorizing by repetition man. Now the word STARTECH will be ingrained in your mind for ever.

Luckily my wallet can defeat the marketing ppl at Startech/Brabus! :D
