Have a ZTE Maven, Z835 that works well but suffers from memory eaten by bloatware. I tried one or two of the root tools that came up in searches, but no success.

Is there a surefire way to do it without smoke?

Have never done this before, so not sure it's even possible.

Nobody?

This is a tech oriented site isn't it?
Be nice, I doubt many people have that phone here.

Uhhhhh, that appears it may be beyond my limited brain function capacity.
Yeah it does look pretty involved. It reminds me of the old days rooting HTC phones that involved using a specially formatted sdcard and other trickery.
I've not felt the need to root a phone in awhile, the disadvantages in my banking software and knox not working make it not worthwhile but Odin for Samsung phones used to make it really easy. Too easy really.

You should be able to disable a bunch of stuff even if you can't uninstall them, it ends up being exactly the same thing.

Those instructions look pretty straight forward. Shouldn't be too difficult, just time consuming.
