Well here's the story. Last Tuesday I rode out to bike night at this place. In the process of walking around, talking, and meeting people I get to talking with this guy and the conversation drifts to beer. He starts telling me about some of the homebrews that hes made but that hes looking to get rid of his equipment because he doesn't really have time to do it anymore.
Me: "Hmm... thats something I've always wanted to try doing."
Him: "Really? Well if you want this equipment I'll give it to you. Just come get it."

So yesterday I drive out to this guy's place to pick it up. I get there and take a look at the equipment  Thank God I own a truck. I was NOT prepared for this!

My books, recipes, & other literature
The brewing stand
The kegerator
Inside of the kegerator and 4 of my 7 cases of 22oz bottles
My outside storage with the 8 kegs, 4 huge carboys, and other sundry equipment

Um... ok I'm not quite sure how this whole process works but I guess I'll start reading & find out. Should be fun & hopefully I can create some fine brews :)

SO :p Any other home brewers out there got some good recipes, advice, or stuff they'd like to share?

Holy crap, that's a lot of things ... I'm interested in doing some small homebrewing, found a place that sells some "kits" that you can get started with - but wow, he had one heck of a selection.

Damn, I'm jealous. I just spend hundreds of dollars buying half of the equipment you got for free. I'd recommend going to www.homebrewtalk.com and start reading. Lots of information over there. There is even a recipe section where people post they're good results.

Wow you really lucked out! :)

He gave you 95% of the equipment you need to do multi-stage brewing which is pretty involved ... I suggest you start with a relatively simple single-stage batch based on a brewing kit just to master the basics & take it from there ... enjoy!

I suggest buying this book ... it was the first thing I read when getting started & its entertaining as well as informative:

The Complete Joy of Homebrewing

It's really just a money pit ryan, and a waste of time, just drive up to ky and I'll free up your garage space.

Well I took a closer look at the kegs last night. I've got alot of work to do! The corney's have what looks like the residue from 6 year old coke in the bottom of them and all sorts of crap on the sides. The kegs are no better. I mashed the valve on one and out shot junk that smelled like vinegar. The other still has too much pressure for me to mash the valve.
