I've had this little hockey puck sized NVR for a few years. Don't remember what I paid for it. Been working just fine, displaying 4 outdoor cameras on a 24" monitor.
Hear a faint pop, and it went dark. No storms, no power surges, the device just farted itself into oblivion. So, now I'm blind and can't see the insurrectionists if they come to raid my stash of goodies.
Did a quick scramble through Jeff's Books, Tech and other stuff place and came up with an 8 channel one for $60 that says it'll take my IP cameras. The hockey puck was supposed to be able to take an external HDD, but I could never get one to work. This new one is set up for a 3.5" internal and I have a couple of those laying around unused.
Not $60 I needed to spend right now.
Time to go set the macaroni and cheese guy straight ......
