The Going Out of Business sale at The Wiz has been ongoing for a few weeks now, and it seems that they're in a hurry to liquidate some of their excess inventory. Starting Friday, The Wiz has been practically giving away most of their remaining Ethernet cards for $1 each. Brand names and availability probably vary by store, but I found the following items on sale for a buck at one of their stores in NYC:

* 3Com USB 10 mbit Ethernet adapters
* SohoWare ISA 10 mbit Ethernet adapters
* SohoWare 10/100 PCI Ethernet adapters

There doesn't seem to be a limit on the number you can buy, so you can probably take as many as you want. They have have Belkin 7 foot patch cables on sale for $3 each, all DVD's and CD's are 40% off, and all of the Monster Cables are 50% off.

Good deal on the network cards. Could be a really good deal on Monster cable.

That is a good deal on Monster Cable. That's most likely store cost, or pretty close to it.

It is a B&M store going out of business. I don't believe there is an online store.

I thought that I'd give this topic a bump, because The Wiz in my area still has a bunch of these $1 ethernet cards in stock. I also found that Windows 2000 drivers are available for the SohoWare cards, and that drivers are included on the Windows XP CD.

That, and I'd imagine that there are a few RossMAN-types out there, who will want to pick up a gross of these cards and sell them on eBay :)
