In a victory for employers and the Trump administration, the Supreme Court on Monday said that employers could block employees from banding together as a class to fight legal disputes in employment arbitration agreements.

No more Unions soon?

but on the thoer hand:
At one point, Chief Justice John Roberts asked Ortiz, a lawyer for the workers, whether a decision in his favor would "invalidate agreements covering 25 million employees"?
Ortiz said it would.

Shit is going downhill fast brother.

If I had the financial means right now I would seriously consider moving to Europe. As it is, my fiance and I are on a 5 year plan to move to Europe and try it out for a few years, since we are not sure how it will go and how long we want to be away from family at that time.

teehee that made me laugh.

I've always wanted to live there but it's a big deal to move that far away. I do have EU citizenship so that will help us out a lot. It's on the agenda!

Croatia looks absolutely stunning. And relatively affordable to visit. Where in Europe do you want to live? We are still trying to figure that part out. I have a close relative in England but that's it.

Congress should pass law making arbitration clauses, particularly as standard in employee contracts, illegal.

Also shove no-competes in the same trash bin.

I believe they should simply make mandatory arbitration illegal. If both sides freely choose to go to arbitration, great. If at any point before arbitration begins one party decides otherwise, it's off to the courts.

why would that stop you? just go. remember, there are no illegals.

The left honors the immigration laws of Norway while working hard to not enforce ours. I guess they want somewhere more caucasian to escape to once they've remade America into their fondest dream of an open borders nation where laws are merely a suggestion.

Croatia, duh lol Id probably be fine with most of Europe to be honest. Id have to learn the language of the chosen country just because i find it respectful, even though they speak a lot more english everyday in Europe.

The older i get, the more i just want to live in some small fishing village with no internet. Drink wine, eat good food and watch the world stroll slowly by lol This world has become tiring since social media and endless news cycles :D

That works too.

That is an interesting issue. The SCOTUS appears to value contractual agreements. But the issue would be employment and unfair, unjust, or unviable agreements. Where people are desperate for employment and become victims of circumstance. They don't choose to be taken advantage of, they just do not have the power to say no. Basically like drunks. Employees cannot give consent under the stress and failures of trickle down forcing them to do anything they can to stay alive.

SCOTUS has failed to do what is in the victim's interests here, and failed to recognize the inability to consent to those agreements.
