possible real stupid question but here goes:

Diamond makes a SupraExpress modem (SUP2730) and according to their page there is both a pc and a mac version.

One of the only differences I noted on the support page was the serial connection.
http://www.diamondmm.com/default.asp?menu=support&submenu=Modems&item=modem_compare
The pc uses an 9 pin serial while the mac uses an 8 pin serial.

Stupid question, is there any type of 8pin to 9pin converter so you could use the mac version on a pc? Or are there other differences between the two versions?

(also should mention the p/n is 3255015-001)

thanks,

I'm sorry, but are you getting a special deal on a MAC external modemor something? As far as I know, there isn't a converter, but you might check out your local computer store or Best Buy. I have the PC version of the modem and it works great; you can get the PC version (USB) for about $40.
