I don't get it, everyone here seems to be in love with the late model Supra? Why? Only the Turbo versions can even be considered quick. The NA models are overweight rice. What is rice? All show no go. At 3400 pounds the 4th gen NA with 225 HP falls over itself trying to get up to speed.
 
ill try to put this as simple as i can

ok toyota made the supra engine like INDESTRUCTABLE, its made of all forged internals, meaning that you can Turbo/Supercharge/NOS the sh!t out of it. thats what makes it so fast, and even though your running that stuff your engine will not likely explode like it should until over 200,000 miles of abuse.

I 100% agree.

Most "fast" cars are only considered fast because they look nice, and they have a faster model of it. So because one model is fast, the others are "fast too".

Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, Eclipses, 3000GTs, Supras, etc etc.
 
Well for one thing people like it because it's a good looking car, and has the potential to be a very fast car.

From the same era, i prefer the 300ZX TT since i'm a nissan fanboy and all.


 
my boss has a '97 supra that he modded the crap out of. races it at competitions.

he won 'pro solo' or whatever that is a few time in it.

its nice looking.

A) I think (not sure) the N/A version is a little lighter
B) 225 HP is enough to get that car up and running, saying it falls over itself is retarded. Does a 225HP, 3300lb Taurus SHO fall over itself trying to get up to speed? No, it runs 15.1's stock.
 
Well, I can't speak for other people, but I like Supras because it only cost me $3200 to get 600hp out of it, and it looks really nice to boot.
 
Desslock you don't have to make it clear that there is a difference between the NA and TT Supras, it's already obvious. In the Supra community you either have a "Supra" or a "Supra NA"
 
Its all because of that stupid movie. Before that movie you can find nice Turbo Supras for $25-27k... then everyone joined the bandwagon and they went back up to $30-34k... 😕 Most of the Supras around my area are NA... along with the tacky bodykits.

Edit😱k I admit saying "can't get out of its own way" is to harsh. I have just seen to many badly fitted body kits on NA's that want to be fast and it is sad.

No one gives a crap about non-turbo Supras. Saying "Supras suck because the NA one is slow" is like saying "Mustangs are slow because they came with a 2.3L 4 cylinder".

No one gives a crap about the slow models. "Supra" in the performance world implies Turbo, like "Mustang" implies V8.
 
having a fast car means nothing if the driver is sh!t :Q

unfortunately, it seems that EVERYONE thinks they're good drivers...i've talked to idiots who can't even drive in a straight line and meet with an accident almost bi-weekly and they think they're awesome drivers...
