Meh. The Tea party is the last gasp of Denial by the middle class supporters of the lootocracy. As the author suggests, if the Repubs have their way, it'll be the way of more top down looting. Most of what they want is already in place, so all they need to do is prevent significant change, keep the system they've set up doing what it was intended to do. Repubs apparently intend to destroy the Govt. Quite what they think will emerge on the other side, dunno, but the idea of unintended consequences doesn't seem to be any concern on their part.
Meanwhile, sporadic violence may occur from fringe right factions, and will quickly be quelled. Ultimately, middle class righties will be forced to choke down the very bitter reality that they've been duped when no amount of deficit spending can cover the effects of Reaganomics.
Obviously, the Constitution can't be defended with revolution, but only with votes. When and if things get bad enough, the electorate will come to their senses, but not until. Even in 1932, the only revolution occurred at the ballot box, and I doubt the near future will be any different.
I'll agree that establishment corporate Dems are just Republicans by another name, but what the Tea Party offers on the Right isn't any sort of answer at all. The only answers we'll find will come from progressive Dems, just as in 1932, or from initiatives even more to the left on the political scale.
