Hi All,
I am having an intel E8400 Core 2 Duo CPU ( 3G, 1333Mhz FSB). Can I put this cpu in Asus P5n MX motherboard and still run at 1333 FSB? THe board manual says FSB support is 1333(overclocking)/1066... If I put 8400 on this board, will I be running 1333 normally or will I be overclocking the CPU automatically?

Basically I don't want to overclock my CPU.

Clarify my doubt

Thanks in advacne

Unless the bios settings are changed you will be running stock speeds. Also is will lower the mult from 9x to 6x when you have little loads unless changed in the bios. Hope that helps.

Hi M1a,
Thanks for the answer.
Assuming I am not changing the BIOS settings I understand that I will get FSB to clock at 1333 performance without overclocking in this board. Am I correct?

And also I did'nt understand the second part :(

Thanks!!

It's confusing, isn't it?

The FSB 1333 figure is quad pumped. In simple terms, this means your motherboard's FSB reading in the BIOS will be 333. To run this you'll need DDR2-667. I'm running my E8400 on an IP35-E motherboard @ 3.6 ghz, which means I'm running the motherboard's FSB at 400 and my DDR2-800 is at stock.

Hi,
Similarly Will I be able to run DDR2 at 800 by placing DDR2 800 sticks in the slot with out overclocking??
