i'm only 25 but i noticed that i can complete forget whatever i was thinking about just a few minutes ago. for example, i would think to myself to remember to bring something home from work about an hour before i leave, then i wouldn't remember about it until on the drive home. by then its usually too late. are there supplements that i can take for memory improvement? ginko baloba(sp)? ginsing(sp)? thanks for input.

Good eating habits, never go around on an empty stomach; eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take some vitamins, and relax.

Also don't stress yourself too much, should be adequate. Unless your going to go to a pyschiatrist or something if its really that bad.

people say ginkoba biloba helps but what do tree hugin hippie natural food stores know...goddamn hippies

Good question. I'm the same age and have the same problem, just noticed within the past couple years it's gotten worse.
I'm never hungry and have absolutely no stress and I get lots of sleep. But I'll be damned if I can remember what I got up to go to the kitchen for! 🙁

Is there some kind of early age alzheimer's or something?

yea i think its the stress, mostly from work. i try to take daily multi-vitamins...whenever i remember. thanks for you advice.

I'm 26 and I can't tell if my memory is worsening, or if I merely expect more from myself, but I'm starting to become...oh right - yeah, I'm starting to become somewhat obsessed with the idea that my memory is slowly fading. I used to be elephant-like, but that is definitely not the case now.

If you drink diet drinks with aspartame, you may want to start by cutting that out. Otherwise, I find I am mentally sharper (including memory) when I work out often.

Hey Skoorb..you have that $50 I loaned you😉

I take gingko biloba and grape seed extract.

Grape seed extract is a strong anti-oxidant that penetrates the blood-brain barrier.

You should also check out acetyl-L-carnitine and phosphatidylserine.

Plus, everyone should take a good multi-vitamin.

Excercise is important too. A randomized, controlled trial determined that group exercise has beneficial effects on physiological and cognitive functioning, and well-being in older people. At the end of the trial, the exercisers showed significant improvements in reaction time, memory span, and measures of well-being when compared with controls.

grape seed extract...having heart problems? perhaps oatmeal in the morning should be good enough so you don't have to waste money on extract, a red wine in moderation can have the same effects...aspartame hasn't been proven to be detrimental, it just seems that the people who drink diet sodas are mentally handicapped. get some calcium in you, it's good for synaptic transmitions "milk does a brain good"

Aspartame hasn't been proven to be detrimental, but then again smoking hasn't been proven to cause lung cancer either.
