Supersize-Me Arguements

Im a slim azn guy, 5'10 and 140lbs. I dont eat McDonalds much anymore but I used to. I was pretty suprised when I found out they took away supersized-fries because I liked to munch on em over a long time, or just when im out with friends. Now with the regular large, I cant get fries anymore when im out with friends cuz of those damn moochers 😛

Anyways, what arguements are there to be made against this movie? Obviously nobody should be eating fast-food for every single meal, while actually putting an effort into not walking more than a mile a day.

i guess only buy supersize when you're splitting with (a) friend(s)

or not sell them to fat people . . . but that would be discrimination . . ..

solution is simple, just order 2 large fries

Are you going to pay for the other one? Remember for .35 more cents you get larger fries and soda.

True, but many people do. This movie shows exactly how unhealthy it is to live that way

he was force feeding himself to the point where he would almost puke. no one actually eats like that.

it's unhealty food. period. point proven over and over.

sure it tastes good, but it's not good for you. don't blame Supersize Me guy for that.

damn im not paying for a whole extra large fries when im only gonna get 1/5th of it

I still eat a whole damn lot for my size too (i've outeaten all my friends who were stoned out of thier minds but I dont do drugs) in a lil feast at Wendies drive-thru

anyways, the main point of this thread is I am asking for points that defend McDonalds other than no-one in their right mind would eat that way

no one is blaming the supersize me guy for mcdonald's food being bad for you.

what he should be tarred and feathered for is taking it to a fallacious extreme

And I'll still make the argument that just because people have a problem controlling themselves and the frequency that they eat at doesn't mean that McDonald's should take the heat. Yes, it would be smart of them to better their cooking processes to make things healther or to offer better menu choices, but NO ONE has EVER told you that you have to eat McDonalds, or that you should eat any fast food as fruquently as some people do.

So we can blame the supersize me guy for helping Americans, once again, put blame on other people for their stupidity and cause someone who is more innocent than we'd like to admit to make a change that really won't change anything.

Why? Granted he took an extreme stance (fast food 3 meals a day / 30 days) but he did it to show people how awful it is for you. In the movie you see how bad all this crap is for you and how eating enough of it does do some damage to your body.

no, he didn't. you could eat 5000 calories of brocolli a day and it would still do the same thing to you.

ok, take liquid oxygen into your lungs. does that prove oxygen is bad for you??

extremes do not always prove the rule.

no kidding, forcing it down until u barf... its like a david blaine stunt. watch me abuse myself. ..cept this twit think he's making a message.

But you guys are missing the point of the movie. The eating stunt was the gimmick to get people into the theatre. It's really a documentary about the obesity problem and fast food's role in it.

I dont think anyone could eat 5000 calories of broccoli per day. As a matter of fact I have a huge bag of frozen broccoli in my Freezer right now.
4 pound bag and it is big. 25 calories per serving. 21 servings per bag. 1 cup per serving. That means 131.25 calories per pound of broccoli. You would have to eat 38 pounds of broccoli per day to equal 5,000 calories. LOL want some soy sauce with that?

exactly, and it would be bad for anyone that attempted to consume that much broccalli in one day.

No the point is that if you only ate brocooli because it is so filling and so little calories the most your diet would get is three or four hundred calories which isn't really enough to keep your weight at but you would get skinnier and skinnier instead. Broccoli is great to throw in a meal and fill you up more and lighten your meal up. Fill your stomach without adding any calories. Green beans are the same way they are low carb veggies and you can't eat enough of them to get fat off them.
