superPi errors..

I tried running superPi on my system, but I keep getting errors such as "incorrect round" or "no convergence", and I don't know why, my system is all at stock speed, I haven't even tried OC'ing it...
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

A64 3000+ (939)
gigabye nForce4
512mb RAM (I know its not alot)
6600GT
(as I said all @stock)

However I did have someone messing in the bios with some of the deffinitions, but he told me he didn't OC the memory.
Is it possible to change timings without OC? and if so, then what do I need to look for in the bios? (like change memory settings back to auto or whatever...)

Yes, it is possible to screw up the timings without screwing up the clockspeed.

I would make sure its set to "Automatic" or "By SPD" in the bios, this should grey out all of the timing options and set them automatically.

ok, I will try that.
but what exactly are memory timings? (since you said they're possible to mess with, without OC'ing)

on what each of the mem timing options are...

pretty much all you need to know is lower numbers are better...

i.e.

2-2-2 (cas, ras->cas, ras precharge) is better than 2.5-3-3

only winbond UTT and bh-5's (and some ch-5's) can run the "tight" 2-2-2 timings

lower numbers = greater bandwidth = should get better performance on programs requiring bandwidth

in other apps, ram timings make no difference... check out zebo's sticky in this forum

here's an update, I changed my bios setting to auto, as you said it did grey-out all the other fields, but that didn't solve the problem...
I'm still getting those two errors with superPi.
F.Y.I it works well up to 4mb, but the 8mb one it fails after a few steps..
any ideas? what can be out of synch?

temperatures okay?

what are you using for cooling?

all stock, speeds and cooling...
temps are aprox. 28c idle and 32c under full load (for cpu)
system temps are low 30's
gpu is a little warmer at 50c idle and 75c load, but thats ok for 6600GT
