Anyone else think Castiel is Lucifer? I've been thinking so since he first came on the show.

I think that demon/angel that took over Nick isn't really Lucifer, just a decoy or second in command.

I hadn't thought about that, but I think it's unlikely since he was around before all the seals were broken. And he'd probably try to kill Dean if he was Lucifer, instead of saving him over and over, especially since he is the vessel for Michael.

Well, it's possible the seals and all of that were misinformation and the real goals of Lucifer required Sam and Dean, and he has been playing everyone since the beginning. It would fit since Satan is supposed to be "the father of lies". I think if Castiel (little to no lore on the origin of the name) is really Satan, it won't be revealed until the end of the season or the end of this story arc. I guess we'll see.

Just watched the season 5 premier.

I think God directly brought Castiel back.

Anyone find it funny that the guy that plays Jacob on Lost (basically like a Jesus equivalent) is now the devil on this show?

That guy has some indescribable look/quality that makes him a good (well, evil), enigmatic character.

He reminds me of Callum Keith Rennie, the guy who played Leoben on BSG.

I think he's evil in Lost, as well. He certainly chose people, but the whole story isn't out yet.

It's on the CW at 9pm Thursdays... which also happens to be when Fringe airs on Fox now.

It's a great show, the early seasons have a few minor rough spots, but every season is better than the previous ones, and judging from the two episodes so far this season it looks good.

Things are getting interesting...
The interplay between Castiel and Lucifer reminds me of Lost, though that's in part because of Mark Pellegrino.
