It's going to happen on Sunday Sept 27...

It's been 33 years since the last one and you won't see it again for another 18 years.
Viewing conditions will vary; Some areas will see it better than others, and weather conditions will be critical.

oh gawd we're all going to die.

Stock markets will crash, werewolves will be in the streets, and people everywhere will act a little bit strange.

Yeah, the wife is waiting on this one.

We've actually gotten some good shots of Blood Moons in the past.

It's pretty clear here atm, haven't looked at the forecast.

Yesterday the long range forecast was looking good. Now we have increasing clouds on Sunday/Sunday night possible rain 🙁

Trump and Carson will be out howling at the moon.
So if you hear a weird crazy cry in the night air, be assured Trump and or Carson are visiting your town.

apparently, you will be only able to see it in full effect if you live in the middle of the atlantic ocean.

^^ This diagram has the moon moving west to east. 😀

They're displaying the actual eclipse which is dependent on the moon's orbital motions. In that case, it does move from West to East. The moon's prograde direction is counter clockwise when looking down on the North pole. You're thinking of the perceived motions from the point of view of an Earth observer, which are not their real motions at all. That is a factor of the Earth's rotation, which is also West to East.

Watch it yourself. The East side of the moon will enter the penumbra first, and the West will leave it last. Thus moving from West to East.

Go Figure,,, it's American

Presumptuous much? Educate yourself:

Suppose to be optimum viewing conditions here in Colorado. And it's been clear for days now. Supposed to be 90 on Sunday too!

Wish my video camera had better low light capability. I might put it behind my spotting scope. Kind of a poor mans lens. LOL

Boo this always happens when I'm on night shift. Wont be able to see it. Had a feeling this was coming though as the moon was quite bright last night.

Nice and clear but there's a tall building blocking my view... I could go outside and look but you know.
