SuperMicro X8DA3 boot problems

If you are currently using the X8DA3 board with both the LSI Megaraid and either the Adaptec or Intel RAID working at the same time, would you please let me know what video card you are using? I've been trying to get this to work for over six months and cannot turn on the Adaptec or Intel RAID without turning off the LSI. I've installed every BIOS update I could find and have had a long, not-very-helpful correspondence with SuperMicro. I get a 'not enough space option rom' message at the end of the BIOS boot. I'm pretty sure the problem lies with the amount of option rom used by the video card as when I installed an old PCI Radeon card, I could turn on the Adaptec and have the LSI boot as well. Intel still did not let the LSI load, however. I'm currently using a Sapphire HD5750 card and while I'm not in the mood to buy a new one, I want very much to get this board up and running the correct way. Tell me what you got or did to get both RAIDs working. Thanks.

Looks like there is a newish BIOS release for this board. R2.0A dated August 12, 2010. Did you try that one?

Its most likely a mobo BIOS issue but have you checked for a firmware update to the Adaptec card? I have not been impressed with SuperMicro's support as of late. Tyan seems more responsive.

Unfortunately it is not an add in card. This board comes with the LSI Megaraid, the Adaptec, and the Intel RAIDS built in. (You can only use either the Adaptec or the Intel; not both.) So any firmware will have to come through SuperMicro. I agree with you about SM's support. Email responses took days. They were written by several people so no one person was trying to follow the thread. But the worst part, not one had even a suggestion of what might be causing the problem. I don't know about others, but if someone tries to explain to me what might be happening, I can get a better idea of what to try.
